How to Make Paneer Quesadilla – Step by Step
Step 1 – Prepare the Paneer
Cut the paneer into small cubes or crumble it into bite-sized pieces. Set aside while preparing the vegetables.
Step 2 – Sauté the Vegetables
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté for 2 minutes until slightly softened. Add red and green bell peppers and cook for another 2–3 minutes.
Step 3 – Add Spices
Add ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, red chilli powder, paprika, garam masala, oregano, salt and black pepper. Stir well and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 4 – Cook the Paneer Filling
Add the paneer and chopped tomato to the pan. Mix gently to coat the paneer with the spices. Cook for 3–4 minutes until heated through and any excess moisture has evaporated. Finish with lemon juice and fresh coriander.
Step 5 – Assemble the Quesadilla
Place a tortilla on a clean surface. Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese over one half. Spread a generous portion of paneer filling on top and add another light layer of cheese.
Fold the tortilla in half to form a semicircle.
Step 6 – Toast Until Golden
Heat a non-stick pan over medium-low heat and lightly grease it with butter or oil.
Place the folded quesadilla in the pan and cook for approximately 2–3 minutes on each side, pressing gently with a spatula until the tortilla turns golden and crispy and the cheese melts.
Step 7 – Slice and Serve
Transfer the quesadilla to a cutting board and let it rest for 1 minute. Slice into 2–3 triangular pieces and serve immediately.
How to Serve
Serve Paneer Quesadillas hot and crispy with tomato salsa, creamy guacamole or sour cream for dipping.
For a complete Mexican-inspired meal, pair them with Mexican rice, black beans, fresh corn salad or crunchy nachos.
For extra flavour, garnish with chopped coriander, sliced jalapeños and a squeeze of fresh lime juice.
