 Ingredients

  • Brown sugar – 1 cup (packed)
  • Unsalted butter (softened) – ½ cup (115 g)
  • Egg –1 (room temperature)
  • Vanilla essence – 1 tsp
  • All-purpose flour (maida) – 1½ cups
  • Baking soda – ½ tsp
  • Salt – ¼ tsp

Optional (for extra flavour):

  • Cinnamon – ¼ tsp
  • Chocolate chips or chopped nuts – ½ cup

    How to Cook

    Step by Step

 1️⃣ Preheat & Prepare

  • Preheat oven to 175°C

  • Line a baking tray with baking paper

2️⃣ Cream Butter & Sugar

    • In a bowl, mix butter + brown sugar

Beat until creamy and smooth

3️⃣ Add Wet Ingredients

  • Add egg and vanilla

  • Mix until well combined

4️⃣ Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt (and cinnamon if using)

 5️⃣ Make the Dough

  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture

  • Mix gently until a soft dough forms

  • Fold in chocolate chips/nuts if using

6️⃣ Shape Cookies

  • Scoop 1–1½ tbsp dough

  • Roll into balls and place on tray

  • Leave space (cookies spread while baking)

7️⃣ Bake

  • Bake for 10–12 minutes

  • Edges should be set, centers soft (don’t overbake!)

8️⃣ Cool & Enjoy

  • Let cookies cool on tray for 5 minutes

  • Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely
